Contribute to development?

Is there any way to contribute to the development of this project? I'm a software and web application developer and would love to be able to contribute to the project - especially adding support for CC Subtitles (EIA-608).

Perhaps Mike could make a private repo and have contributors sign an NDA before contributing to the project. I understand that making this open-source would hinder the ability to commercialize, but I think if Mike were to accept help from other developers, the project could improve at a more rapid pace.

Mike seemed to be excited about my contributions at first but has suddenly stopped responding to emails with no notice. It's been weeks since he's replied. Is there a way to grab his attention other than email?

Mike has been quiet since the first week of February. The only way I have to get hold of him is via email, same as you.
