Mac OSX 10.9.5 with a 1.4 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor

Post by Shakadula51 »

Got a Mac OSX 10.9.5 with a 1.4 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor and the trial version of MakeMKV version 1.8.14.

Everything seems to work fine (even the speed of the MKV rip). But when I play the MKV with VLC player, it continues with the audio but gets stuck on the title. The Hollywood Knights is a blu-ray disc and only about 90 minutes in length. I have ripped it 4 or 5 times and I get the same issue.

This is the only title I have tried to rip as I am testing out MakeMKV and iFlicks as Blu-Ray disc backups. The reason being is some of my SD DVDs no longer play and I may replace them with Blu-Ray but I want to be able to backup everything before I invest more money into buying the same titles again. Also, I am married and she doesn't get it, so this needs to work for me. And don't tell me to get rid of the wife. Been on You Tube too but no help.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Can you explain what that means?

Also, go into the preferences and enable the debug log, rip the disc again and check the log to see if there's anything interesting in there to share with us.

Sure. The video and audio begins to play as it should and then the video freezes when the title, The Hollywood Knights, appears on the screen about 30 seconds into the movie however the audio portion continues uninterrupted. The issue is with the video because it freezes about 30 seconds int the movie.

Sorry, didn't respond to the second request. I will rip it again with debug on.

My experience with VLC is that if one of the tracks you're playing is missing a chunk it will simply skip to the next playable segment, even if that means ending playback. I use windows, but it shouldn't make that much difference.
