Matshita uj240AF - Change drive region

Hi there,

I have a new macbook pro:
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C3103)

and a Matshita uj240AF external drive:

While trying to rip my dvd using MakeMKV, I got this message:
Optical drive "BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ240AF 1.00" opened in DASPI v1.3 mode.
Drive BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ240AF 1.00 has RPC protection that can not be bypassed. Change drive region or update drive firmware from http://tdb.rpc1.org. Errors likely to follow.
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:MEDIA REGION CODE IS MISMATCHED TO LOGICAL UNIT REGION' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_42_1.VOB' at offset '2048'

Can you please guide me through what I need to do using my Mac? I can not find a mac driver/firmware on rpc1.org.

Then you won't like the answer - your drive can't read DVD discs with non-matching region. You can change drive region 5 times total (for lifetime).

I was able to rip a blu-ray (Eyes Wide Shut 1999) but not 2 recent regular DVDs (Dark Night Rises and A Christmas Carol). Does that mean anything?

I can return this drive. Can you tell me which one is best to use as an external drive with a Mac before I purchase MakeMKV?
