So I have a WH14NS40:
OS device name: /dev/sr0
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH14NS40
Revision: 1.05
Serial number: XXXXXXXX
Firmware date: 2120-05-06 14:44
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 82
LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.05
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
Sometimes it has trouble reading certain UHD disc... the problematic discs work fine in my other drives.
Is it worth flashing to WH16NS60-1.02 to see if it helps any?

Re: Flash Problematic LibreDrive Enabled WH14NS40 to WH16NS60?
Not sure why this didn't work:
using MakeMKV v1.17.7 as instructed
I did:
/opt/makemkv/bin # ./makemkvcon f -l
Found 1 drives(s)
00: dev_21:3, /dev/sr0, /dev/sr0
HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__WH14NS40_1.05_212005061444_M6IJ2193306
/opt/makemkv/bin # ./makemkvcon f -d /dev/sr0 -f sdf.bin rawflash enc -i HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin
Reading input file HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin
Flashing flags = 0x0 : 0 0 0 0 : ---- ---- ---- ----
Sending image in encrypted format
Current Drive ID: HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__WH14NS40_1.05_212005061444_M6IJ2193306
Ready to write drive flash memory.
Type "yes" to continue, "no" to abort
yes
Operation started: Sending flash image to drive
100% Operation finished
Operation started: Programming flash
100% Operation finished
Done successfully
I shut off and fully powered down the computer.
The firmware still reports the old information:

Re: Flash Problematic LibreDrive Enabled WH14NS40 to WH16NS60?
IIRC if your drive was already flashed with an MK firmware, you shouldn't use "enc" in further flashing (at least not when to another MK firmware). (Some instructions indicate that you should use "main" instead. Not sure if that's different from not using anything.)
