Weird behaviour from Pioneer drives.

There might have been a mishappen on the flashing front, even though i don't have any clue how it could've happen, but right now my XD08 only reads DVDs, not BluRay (and of course not uhd) with last firmware 1.04. This also happens to my XD05 (curently not connected and dont remeber the firmware version, but i think it also is passed the 12/22 cut off point. Anyone knows about this? I tried to force flash my XD08 with offical 1.04 firmware, but that doesn't work out of the box no more. Any help would be great. Or at least some insight in why they are doing this, both drives read DVD btw, but nothing else.

If you put the drives in kernel mode you can flash the lastest fw over them
But i have Not seen that on any of my pioneers
Did you do anything that would trigger this?

Yes, once tried to update the firmware on this XD08 drive, and used the officall firmware updater, i used
https://pioneer.jp/cgi-bin/device/downl ... W104EU.exe for firmwarea. I have tried to flash it again using my own flasher, since the offical flasher won't do it - and it seemed ok, but now my drive is in constant kernel mode, and i can't get out of it. Maybe the kernel was sent ok, but the normal firmware wasn't, or even a CRC-error somewhere?

I tried using BDRFlash to flash the two firmware files S9330000.104 and S9330001.104 - it reports the firmware has a bad checksum, but from what i can see they seem fine, is there an alternative site to downloading firmware files?

You can not flash official fw from dumped/extracted fw of pioneer updaters

well, that explains it!
But you are familiar with these cut off drives, it does at least flash when i send the firmware, but can it be flashed to the same firmware as it had? i mean, XD08 is 1.04, and i tried to flash that, but it seems that only the kernel are active, when i boot the drive im in kernel mode (the flash mode), and that's about it, can't get out of kernel mode or anything, at least i wish i could use the drive for bluray and dvd, until i have the means to pay you for flashing, although not sure if you can do it when my drive is in limbo?

I have never had a drive that was acting like this so
Not sure we will be able to fix it
I would think it would but not 100% sure

I completely understand! Actually i did flash my ad07 with firmware from the updater.exe - worked just fine
