Hello,

I have an external HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N (MT1959 platform).

Several years ago I attempted to flash it using SDFtool following a guide. Unfortunately, after the flash completed, the drive never ejected again.

Current status:

- Windows detects the drive correctly.
- MakeMKV detects it correctly.
- Model: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N
- Firmware reports as 1.00
- LibreDrive information is displayed normally.
- SDFtool detects the drive without problems.
- I successfully performed a READ firmware dump (2 MB).
- I successfully flashed DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin using SDFtool v1.3.5.
- Flash finished with "Done Successfully".

However:

- The tray still does not eject using either the hardware eject button or MakeMKV.
- Windows Explorer never shows a disc drive.
- The tray can only be opened with the emergency pin hole.
- No disc is inside.
- The drive is inside an ODP95-SU3 USB enclosure.

Could this indicate corrupted NVRAM / calibration data rather than the main firmware?

Would RECOVER mode be the recommended next step, or is there another recovery procedure for this condition?

i would assume it the case
post the makemkv drive info section in plain text
and try it out of the case with one of the adapters from the guide

Regarding the enclosure, it is currently installed in an ODP95-SU3 USB enclosure. I will try the drive with one of the recommended adapters from the UHD guide and report back.

i was expecting it to be in boot mode seen that with cheap adapters
email me your dump file see below for email how did you do a full backup with dosflash?
if so also dump your current fw and i will look at them

ok emailed you just to update everyone else
drive has cal data and sn
still unsure how you got full dumps over usb
but im leaning towards this case is messing up drives some how saw another post from a few years ago and theirs was also acting like it was dead after flashing

try a new case and reflashing with unlocked lg flasher to bu40n 1.00
