My apologies up front, as this likely sounds like a massively stupid question...
Is a 4K monitor required to rip 4K discs with MakeMKV?
I bought an LG BP60NB10 in hopes of ripping 4K discs. When I tried to play a movie via the CyberLink software that came with the drive, it said my GPU does not support 4K, which is clearly does; it's an RTX 3060 Ti. I'm assuming the error message is supposed to actually say something about the monitor not supporting 4K, as I'm using a QHD monitor (LG 27GL83A-B) on the PC.

No, a 4K monitor is not needed to rip 4K discs.

Excellent. Thanks for that.
Now I just need to figure out those instructions on how to get my drive working with MakeMKV.

You DO need a UHD-capable DRIVE to read 4K disks, though. Standard BD won't give you that.
If you're drive's UHD-capable, though, your monitor doesn't matter.
