Saw a simple "Encountered Read Error", but NO hash-check failures. Single message in the output but also the message "Backup Done" was there.
Curious - if no hash-check failures, does that mean the backup was successful but at some point there was a read error that was worked around, perhaps by automatically retrying? If a read-error did have an issue backing up all data, would the output indicate so?
Read error but backup "done" question
Re: Read error but backup "done" question
Wondering about this too.
Re: Read error but backup "done" question
MakeMKV has a default read retry count of 10 I believe. So it might just have been able to read the sector successfully at the second/third/nth try.
Re: Read error but backup "done" question
Thanks. As I obsess over this type of thing I re-rip'd using a different drive and no errors. Comparing the resulting files with an MD5 hash, both were equal. I assume you are correct - the read error occurred >= 1 time but ultimately it was successful.
