Hi,
I'm new to the forum but have been using MakeMKV for years. I just upgraded from a crappy laptop bd-drive to using a LG BE14NU40 (Firmware 1.01) and I'm not sure, wheter or not the drive is riplocked.
Currently its ripping a BD-Disc (Once upon a time in Hollywood) at 26.1M/s (6.0X) speed. Should this not be more than twice the speed (14X) with a regular Blu-ray?
Thanks again,
cube

Re: Is my LG BE14NU40 riplocked?
Riplock will hold the speed down to 2-2.2x.
You won't see "rated speed" except on data closer to the outside of the disk. 6x is pretty good, actually.

The whole disc took around 30 minutes to finish. Definitely faster than the old one. Good to know nothings wrong then.
Are there any faster drives actually reaching a constant 12x reading speed though?
