Had I known about the issues with this drive I'd have bought a different one, but I'm stuck and need help. This seems like the right place.
I read about flashing to the MK 1.05 equivalent firmware (mine came with 1.05), which I did successfully with SDFtool flasher. The only thing I didn't do was tick the enc box but it still did it.
However, when I now try to flash to anything, I get "command produced error code 0x8f05c103".
Noob question but what am I doing wrong?
SDF tool flasher is showing HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BH16NS40_1.05_212005061331_KLZK9FB3016.
It successfully reads and rips a regular blu-ray, but doesn't read UHD. It's clearly not bricked but equally something isn't right.
Thanks in advance for any help here.
Best wishes
Sean
Stuck with downgrade options for BH16NS40 SVC NS51
Re: Stuck with downgrade options for BH16NS40 SVC NS51
ok - so I managed to sort this and am now on the Asus 3.10 crossflash - working perfectly.
The error message appears to be because the drive was open (slaps head).
I did the flash using the CMD line code listed on this site, using makemkvconv64. Flashed successfully the first time and had no problems since.

Thanks Billy - but I got it sorted in the end with the ASUS crossflash via CMD.
