Total Recall 4k strange issue

When I try to rip this disk with my Asus BW-16D1HT (3.10MK FW), it starts off fast, and by the time it gets to be 75% done the disk speed drops to almost 1x and then it stops all together. This slowdown is linear in relation to the ripping progress after about the 25% mark. I haven't witnessed this behavior with any other disk. Thoughts?
