I'm using Makemkv for converting my DVD collection, already stored and backupped on hard disk as ISOs or folder structures, but found more convenient having them as single .mkv.
Having upgraded to latest 1.60 beta I found that the .mkv are not playable by MPC-Home Cinema (latest 1.4.2499.0 Win7_32, no extra codec installed) but have no issues in other players (have tested only with VLC).
Experimenting a bit I discovered that a working solution is to remux the file from Makemkv without the chapter track (I use mkvmerge for this).
Not a big issue, and have not investigated a lot on this, I just pointed it out to know if it could be a problem only with my setup or... whatever else
P.s.
tested only with DVDs (mpeg2), I still have a few to convert so I'm up for further testing if you need
