2012 Mac Mini
Mac OS 10.14.5
Pioneer BDR-XD05S
MakeMKV 1.14.3
I am curious if any one else is having this problem. After updating to Mac OS 10.14.5 on a 2012 Mac Mini, MakeMKV no longer finds a Pioneer BDR-XD05S. As it turns out, Apple’s System Report doesn’t see the drive either. However, when the drive is moved and connected with the same cable set to an adjacent machine running Mac OS 10.14.4, everything, including MakeMKV works normally.
Recently I read that Apple requires notarization for applications starting with 10.14.5. While I suspect this requirement may have some impact on MakeMKV, it seems as though it shouldn’t on a somewhat generic USB device.
Problems after 10.14.5 Update
Re: Problems after 10.14.5 Update
If an Apple program doesn't see the drive, it would indicate to me that the problem isn't the signing of the application that is preventing access.
