Norwegian/Scandinavian keys?

Post by Trasper »

Hello!

Got the Asus 16D1HT and a OWC enclosure today.
(Both still in their boxes)

Have a few hundred BD's ripped an about 15 UHD's I was planning to start ripping.

I guess there's a difference between UHD disc's from country to country, or at least in different areas of the world.

So I'm wondering if anyone have successfully ripped Norwegian/Scandinavian titles?
Not sure if titles sold in Norway are different from other European releases, Are they the same?

Any Norwegians here?

If someone want to rip for me, we'll agree of some arrangement.

Thanx!

Have you read the UHD FAQ yet? http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16883

In there, there is an explanation of how to submit information on disks not currently listed.

My first UHD, Arrival, is ripping at the moment.
With Norwegian (and English) subtitles.

Everything seems to work perfect so far.

Was the rip successful?

Yes, the rip was done without any problems.

Up to 11 rip's now, everything has worked flawless.

However, I've noticed one thing.
I use the same "setting" as I did when ripping my Blu-Ray's.
Selected the main soundtrack, and if it was two different sound formats, I checked the box for both.
Then I checked for English subtitles, and for Norwegian if the movie had the option.
I never use subtitles when watching movies, but it's nice to have the option.

On UHD disc's I've experienced that the English subtitle (the first, on top, that I've always have used) often seems to be for
people who is deaf or have bad hearing.
It got the "Door opening", "Music playing" etc.

No big deal, but I would preferred the ordinary subtitles.

What are you using to play your files? I tried ripping Arrival and the rip is error free, but I can't get it to play properly in Plex, though I have several other 4K rips that are playing fine.

I use llNA on my Mac.
https://lhc70000.github.io/iina/

It looks good, support hdr and doesn't use to much juice.

(When it's just me, I prefer to watch movies on my iMac anyway. Roll away the office chair, and in with a more comfortable chair, plug in some good headphones, and tilt the screen down, and I'm good to go).

Still rocking a Panasonic Plasma, but now when the number of 4k movies is going up, I guess I'll bellowing for a 4k tv later this year.
And a htpc/mediaplayer.

No issues with Arrival.
Ripped 20 movies so far.
Just one I couldn't rip. "X-Men: Apocalypse". Tried several times, but it always stopped about 2/3's in.
