My new PC Case does not have space for a Bluray drive so I got myself a USB to SATA cable.
My drive pops up in windows as a mass storage device but MakeMKV is unable to see the drive.
Is there a work around for this?
Cheers,
Sam.

Does the operating system treat it as an optical drive? Does Windows show it with an icon like a DVD?

To clear the simple first:
1. Does your SATA to USB converter include a 12 volt supply?
2. Does the device work as an optical drive in Windows? Can it read optical discs?
Woodstock is faster than me.

Re: SATA to USB Bluray drive not seen by MakeMKV
Thanks for the help guys.
The cable I'm using is the type with the 12v supply.
I am able to read files of a Bluray (I've not tried to play a DVD movie yet).
I cannot get access to the PC at the moment as I have friends staying in the room.
As soon as I can I will do more testing but I'm thinking because windows is seeing the drive as a mass storage device it won't operate as DVD player.
Is there any way to make the a USB device look like a SATA device?

That's actually what the USB->SATA device is supposedly doing for you, but Windows can refuse to cooperate. It's actually rare for Windows to do that.
