I use my laptop to play movies out-put to a projector. I have been able to add it as a device on the laptop but can't access it as a drive or as available to MKV. Can I add it as a drive to MKV? System is ASUS x64 w/ win10, Sony BDP-S1700, Sony VPL VW100 projector. Neither the BDP or projector have sound output or I'd connect them directly. Ordinarily this wouldn't be an issue as the system was originally set-up to run through a tuner but it has circuits that have failed and I haven't had those addressed yet.
I don't even know if this is supposed to work. I'd appreciate any responses.
Thanks,
Brian
Can I use a BDP as an external drive
Re: Can I use a BDP as an external drive
It is likely that the drive itself inside the unit is relatively standard; there is a computer to interface it to the video display.
But short of removing it from the box and plugging it in to the motherboard of your computer, there is little chance of being able to use it for MakeMKV.
