Hello all.
I currently have a 5.1 setup, but will look to upgrade to 5.1.2 in the near future. Already have the receiver, but need speakers. Also note, I stream/playback my media on multiple mobile devices, so I need flexibility in playback with the mkv files.
My question is, which option is best for selecting the right audio tracks (files size is a non-issue)
1. The master 7.1 audio file for non-Atmos titles?
2. The master 7.1 and the 5.1?
3. The master 7.1 and the basic DD/stereo?
4. The master 7.1, 5.1 and the basic DD/stereo?
I just want to make sure I future-proof my rips to sound the best, but not sure if some of the above options will negatively affect playback or if it really doesn't matter and the only difference is file size.
Thanks
Selecting Audio Tracks for future Atmos setup 7.1, 5.1, etc
Re: Selecting Audio Tracks for future Atmos setup 7.1, 5.1,
"Future proof" is not guaranteed by anything.
However, I recommend having MakeMKV rip ALL tracks associated with a title, without doing any conversion on the audio, then you can sort it out in post-processing.
