I'm running makemkv on a windows machine, and when I create a mkv from a dvd source the framerate isn't preserved. Many of my dvd's have a framerate of 23.97, but makemkv changes this to 29.97. I'm guessing it's not detecting it properly for some reason and is just setting a flag in the makemkv container incorrectly.
One of the problems I think that I have noticed related to this is that when the video is fed into another app (like handbrake) that auto-detects framerates of the input to use as the framerate for an output video, it seems to use the larger framerate and thus creates a larger output file than is necessary.
