the player must support it otherwise it fallback to the cmv2.9 bloc. This is why the ugoos is a big deal, only device that support both CMV4.0 and P7 FEL

thanks. So are P7 discs being released that have CMv4.0 metadata in addition to the 2.9, even though UHD players like the Oppo 203 and Panny 820 don't support 4.0 ?RESET_9999 wrote: Wed May 01, 2024 9:37 pm the player must support it otherwise it fallback to the cmv2.9 bloc. Yes, its still rare but it seems there's more cmv40 bluray release lately.morbius wrote: Thu May 02, 2024 9:24 am

I know you said at one time you were taking your SDR 1080p and reencoding as HDR10 with DV you made IIRC - what about DV4 (SDR I think) - you ever look into making that? I can't even recall any real world examples found, so prob not, just asking.RESET_9999 wrote: Thu May 02, 2024 10:47 amYes, its still rare but it seems there's more cmv40 bluray release lately.morbius wrote: Thu May 02, 2024 9:24 am

Also, when the bluray is only MEL cmv2.9, I take the cmv4.0 rpu from web streaming.
Well P4 is a dual-layer format and I don't think there's any public tool that can do that.staknhalo wrote: Thu May 02, 2024 5:40 pm I know you said at one time you were taking your SDR 1080p and reencoding as HDR10 with DV you made IIRC - what about DV4 (SDR I think) - you ever look into making that? Yes, The Shield cannot decode FEL so the brightness metadata will be wrong for some bluray. Plus the Shield has tons of problems.userr wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 10:03 am Is there a point in me upgrading my SHIELD to Ugoos who can play FEL?
Will there be a difference on my TV?
RESET may be you know did my lg oled e8 have TV-LED option or just player-led ?RESET_9999 wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 2:32 amYes, The Shield cannot decode FEL so the brightness metadata will be wrong for some bluray. The Ugoos is a must-have if you want the best quality/accuracy/stability without restriction and they just added BDMV and ISO support.
it supports bothvalington wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 9:35 am

BDMV support is great, just got my Ugoos and installed the stable CoreELEC 21.0-Omega release.RESET_9999 wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 2:32 amYes, The Shield cannot decode FEL so the brightness metadata will be wrong for some bluray. DTDL support is under active development so it is only available in the nightly branch.Captncomm wrote: Mon May 06, 2024 6:49 am BDMV support is great, just got my Ugoos and installed the stable CoreELEC 21.0-Omega release.
However, when I play BDMV or .ts/m2ts dual track, double layer DV content, the video only plays in HDR, not DV. Do I miss something, maybe?
