Is there any reason why the SDF Flasher isn’t recognizing any of the firmware from the All You Need Firmware pack? It won’t let me select any of the files from the folder.

I’ve followed all of the other steps and I can’t seem to figure out the final step.

Do you have MakeMKV installed? SDF Flasher is a front-end for the native CLI tool that comes w/ MakeMKV. See the list of prerequisites in post #1.

I have a new ' Arcggon - Ultra Slim Optical Drive - MDL MD-8107-U3 ' which firmware can I flash.

Using Makemkv can RIP CD/DVD/BR and watch a 4K UHD using PowerDVD 365, now I'd like to RIP my 4KUHD Library.

That's because you're trying to run a program that hasn't been submitted to Microsoft for approval. At every version. It hasn't identified anything that implies "badness", other than the fact you haven't gotten this particular version approved by Microsoft (for a "small fee").

Didn't you get that when you first ran MakeMKV?

Flashed my new LG WH16NS40 and everything looked fine - except it doesn't work. Just a silly question, but once it can do UHD disks, it can still do BluRay too, right?
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
It takes forever to read the disks. Only one time did it every completely read a disk so I could start a copy off, but that never finished.
Do I need a different/newer firmware?
I tried the "all you need" and "All you need Marty M" firmware.
I need something to try since this isn't working.
Thanks.

You didn't really give us much information but hopefully you flashed it to WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware. Also, once flashed you must power cycle the drive and try cleaning the UHD discs before trying to read them again.
Cheers :D

@MartyMcNuts,

The older model for, Slim LG-BP50NB40 with SVC CODE: NB40 Manufactured 2019, are the steps/firmware same as the newer Slim LG-BP50NB40 SVC CODE:NB52 model? If not, can you tell me the correct steps, or just the firmware I need for LG-BP50NB40 SVC CODE: NB40

Is there any differences between SVC CODE: NB40 - NB52 in these Slim LG portable Blu-ray Drives?

I haven't come across one of those in a long while. It should have an unencrypted firmware so you could try flashing to the equivalent MK firmware version, then try directly flashing to BU40N 1.00 firmware or just follow the same process as for NB52.

The NB52 firmware has some additional checks. This is why we first flash it to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.
Cheers :D

A drive from 2013 isn't going to do much more than read regular BDs. Mine hasn't.

Your drive has encrypted firmware so you can't flash to WH16NS40 1.02 directly. You should flash to WH16NS60 1.02-MK (which is the recommended firmware anyway!) then to any other firmware if you choose.

YAY! Thank you! I was mistakenly also trying DE_LG WH16NS60_1.00.bin, which is clearly not 1.02 (doh). You're a saint for replying so quickly. Do you have a donation link?
