It's impossible to tell it so easily. You need a lot of tools, Davinci Resolve, Dolby Media Encoder, eac3to, command line and some knowledge)
I likely have all of the same tools as you. I've been decoding the Atmos tracks then importing those into Dolby Media Encoder to encode using the 7.1 DDP Atmos Bluray profile. But the resulting file always ends up with the below channel layout -

Code: Select all

Even using these processes, isn't the object metadata lost?

You can't do anything about it at the moment, I stopped paying attention to it

So your files are resulting in the L R C LFE Ls Rs Tfl Tfr layout as well?

Any update on the issues the X700 bluray player has with displaying dolby vision movie files? My TV is Sony A95L.

* TV-LED: Positive lift for L2 trim offset does not work. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JrU6JX ... drive_link
M2TS & TS DoVi
* Crushed black when source max_pq is 4095 (10 000nits)
CMV2.9

Yes, of course, at the moment with the available software it does not work any other way

No.
The positive Trim offset bug is really strange and will probably never get fixed because it's also not working on the latest cm4.0 devices (ATV and shield).
It only works properly in LLDV or with the TV internal player.

The crushed black issue is only a problem with 10 000 content which is very rare.

Here is my try for TRON 4K HDR - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ehR5un ... sp=sharing
I use TOPAZ for upscaling and DaVinci for HDR.

IMO, you completely changed the intended look of the movie. Heavy DNR, oversharpened, oversaturated and maxfall seem much higher.

If you look at my previous comparison with the original SDR BDs in an HDR container versus the original HDR, the low, mid-range, details and colors are very close most of the time and only the highlights are brighter.
This is exactly what I'm trying to achieve and I think it works very well. Also, I don't know about topaz, I never used it but you should denoise and sharpen less. My version is already too sharp for my taste and has already more details than the original SDR 1080p BD and I used the lowest sharpness settings in Resolve AI algo while your version is like two times sharper than mine, not to mention completely denoised.

Hey All,

I know the conversation is going elsewhere, but hoping I could get a little beginner guidance. I've read as much as I can of this thread and think I have an okay grasp on how to rip 4k UHD discs and play the Dolby Vision Profile 7 FEL. However, in practice I've been unsuccessful. The steps I'm taking are straight from RESET_9999's DV spreadsheet. I'm:

-Selecting the 'Backup' option in MakeMKV when inserting a disc (leaving the 'Decrypt Video Files' checked)
-Once complete, I open the disc using MakeMKV to determine the correct mpls (the actual mpls is in the *Movie*->BDMV->playlist folder)
-Opening the most recent tsmuxer from github (currently nightly build from 2023-11-26)
-adding the identified mpls to the 'Input Files' section on the 'Input Tab'
-deselecting all tracks except the 3840:2160p HEVC and the True-HD (I don't care about the rest)
-muxing to m2ts or ts (I've tried both)

I'm then hosting it on a server and playing on my LG CX through a Sony x800m2. I have DV enabled. But every time, it triggers HDR, not DV. When I downloaded and played RESET_9999's DV P7 FEL test file (the Clockwork Orange one), it played perfectly, enabling DV, so it's clearly my user error here when I'm doing it. The 4k UHD I'm using is the movie '1917'. I'm currently trying a different movie to see what results I get ('Gladiator').

Am I missing a step?

Really appreciate the help, this forum has been incredible.

You have to mux the 1920x1080p DV layer as well.

That's it! It works!

Thank you so much for answering and for all your efforts to figure this out in the first place! Now on to rip my collection and enjoy it to its fullest!

Hello @RESET_9999,

i have a question regarding the x800m2 and cropped content. I have some P8 DV mkv files that are in a 3840x1608 resolution. When converted to .ts, this will result in grey boxes when played in the x800m2,

I tried using your scripts with 2-1-1, with all L5 values set to 0, but this results in the same grey boxes. Am i doing something wrong? Will the MA version work better?

Thanks for all the help!
