For movies that have a MDL mismatch like The Avengers would you recommend editing L6 or just leaving it alone. Thanks

So I’ve been ripping discs in my collection, adding audio tracks, then remuxing back to usb flash drives in bdmv format for chapter support, only retaining the main feature for playback on my x800m2.

Following directions for option 2 of the x800m2 in the dolby vision stuff sheet, and using tsmuxer nightly in order to keep dolby vision, I notice if I remux the playlist file to bdmv, mediainfo shows two streams, neither listing dv.

If I remux the m2ts file, I now see dv in mediainfo, as expected.

If I then remux the new m2ts back to bdmv, mediainfo no longer shows dolby vision.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I only remux to m2ts to keep dolby vision, and manually place it in the bdmv structure?

Would really appreciate any advice/help!

@onlysleeping23 it's normal and look at an original DV BD folder , you'll see that it's the same.

I think I know the answer to this but wanted confirmation anyway.

I ripped John Wick 4 and then, with DoVi_Scripts, plotted HDR10 and DV L1:

As you can see, DV has a higher MaxCLL by about ~400 nits. Is that why it's included here in this spreadsheet that shows DV grades that expand brightness?

Yes that's FEL so if it were to be convert to profile 8 which would not contain FEL it would be the incorrect brightness

I'm confused which one to prefer. The new algo L1 seems to cut all highlights, in this case.

original WEB rpu is better, it has a manual L2 trim pass and the generated L1(new algo) looks pretty much like the original L1 (minus blended shots and cmv2.9)

Agreed. Retail DV is always preferable, if it has any manual trim pass and source PQ matches UHD BD.

Alright, thanks for the input. Incase of no manual trim pass or static DV, which one should be selected then?

Is it possible to get heatmap and gamut from 7-3 in 2160p?

Does anyone know why I'm getting this error message when inputting a .TS file into 4-2? The MKV file works fine.
