Really appreciate everything you’ve done and do.
And I am still struggling with my mkv to mp4 conversion)

you're welcome!
I don't think it has CMv4RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 2:51 pmWow, so your TV only supports LLDV but still has the newest CMV4.X version of DV.
Ok, thanks for your answer RESET_9999.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 4:59 pmIf this is what you are asking, almost all the movies are done in CMV2.9 and I don't understand why because the CMV4.X L1 generation is VERY different than CMV2.9 L1 generation. CMV4.X is supposed to be improved compared to CMV2.9.
CMV4.x vs CMV2.9, same settings, same content:

you can try the ATV fake p5 version in your internal tv player. It worked for other Sony owners
No, it would not look worse because L1 is the same.yossSP wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 10:48 amWell, then, if a mkv file uses CMv4.0, a device that only supports CMv2.9 couldn't process all the improvements of the EL layer, only the ones compatible with the CMv2.9. So that, the picture looks worse than it is, loosing all the improvements coded in L3/L8. That's right?
And a final question, the difference in image quality between a full process with CM4.0 source and a CMv4.0 source playingback compatible CMv2.9 in a device that only supports v2.9 is remarkable or subtle?
Thanks again for your clear answer.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 12:12 pmNo, it would not look worse because L1 is the same.yossSP wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 10:48 amWell, then, if a mkv file uses CMv4.0, a device that only supports CMv2.9 couldn't process all the improvements of the EL layer, only the ones compatible with the CMv2.9. L8 is just an improved(i suppose) version of L2 and in the end, shouldn't really look different even though each metadata works differently than L2.
The point of trim passes is that the movie looks roughly the same on every TV regardless of its capabilities.

oops, the menu order is messed up. you don't need python for that workflowrealbabilu wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 6:26 pmI just use Dovi_Script 1.5.2, and choose path 4-5-2, and installed phyton with it necessaries.

Did you try the latest version (1.5.2)?
Well of course, the drive you put the script folder on must have enough space. It needs at least two times the size of the input file.duder wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 11:59 amTried with v1.5.3 (thx again for updating it!)
With the whole file got the same mistake as above. Smth about “enough space”.
But using small cut sample from that file everything works fine!
So maybe there is a need of additional free space. A question is of what size.
