cmv29.mp4 - all works, rpu works (DV)
cmv40.mp4 - L2 does not work. L1, L3 and L8 works and rpu works. (DV)
I don't know what these means, someone could explain these results?
CM v4.x replaces L2 with L8, so L2 is only used when the device doesn't support L8.
It's expected behaviour.

Yes, Infuse triggers DV but no Rpu.
That's strange, it seems Manixx2020beyound played them by infuse and plex.

Sorry to bother, but could you please tell me how did you stream video from pc(windows?) to Apple?
Im currently using file sharing through SMB, but I don't know if there is a better way.
Infuse
Plex
I've just tried the latest infuse on my iPad, no RPU either.
Looks like infuse cannot handle them properly.
No wonder I got banned for posting this on infuse forum.
That’s strange infuse works both on my end on iPhones iPad & appletv with the trims.
Don’t know if LLDV mode played a part as that is what set too on appletv/vertex2

thanks for testing...
it means the ATV supports the newest CMV4.0 DV.
can you test this TS P5 file and see if the RPU is processed please:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ze3VfN ... sp=sharing
This file cannot be played trough Atv native player as it supports only .mp4 files.
Cannot be played in Plex as Plex does not support ts p5
Infuse plays as hdr so ...............

Thanks for the explanation.
Please can you share your latest kodi build for Firestick?
Many thanks.

Also Plex triggers Dolby Vision playing Profile 8 ts movies. Is it fake or real DV?
One possible way to find out is to remux those sample files provide by quietvoid.
Im guessing tsmuxer can mux them to P8 ts, but I don't know how.

Got a cmv question?
Let’s say master move was done in cmv2
When that master churns out a p5 I assume it’s now cmv4, I’m I correct in saying most original P5s are cmv4 this is what I’m seeing on my end please correct me if I’m wrong.

no, most movies are V2.9 (95%+)
Strangely, The Black Phone Movies Anywhere P5 web-dl has two frames on V4.x and the rest on V2.9
Summary:
Frames: 148739
Profile: 8
DM version: 1 + 2 (CM 2.9 and 4.x)
v2.9 count: 148739
v4.x count: 2
Scene/shot count: 1390

Packing P8->P5 only changes profile. All the RPU data won't be changed. CM version will also not change. If that's what you are asking.

Do you have a file with a lot of cmv40 data?
According to saindriches, cmv4 seems to have a problem on Apple platform. I want to give it a test but I don't know what file is FEL with cmv40.

you can check out the movie Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. And I think you can remove cmv4.x with the dovi_tool

Im guessing tsmuxer can mux them to P8 ts, but I don't know how.
Those files, provided by @quietvoid are mkv.
So I remuxed them in Ts muxer.
In Plex both mkv and ts remuxed files do not work. No rpu.
So, to answer my question, P8 ts files in Plex are fake DV.
