Hi All, I've been mad lurking throughout the forum. I too have a:

BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-209D

I have it installed in my Windows 11 workstation and have been using it pretty much flawlessly aside from the fact that it will not recognize 4k BRD's at all. Just comes back with "No Disk".

I've already purchased a license to MakeMKV but I am more than happy to drop a few more bone$ on a FW version that will enable my drive to read 4k BRD's (Time is the most valuable thing a person possesses, one should be compensated for it).

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: DVD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-209D
Revision: 1.31
Serial number: OHDL119*****
Firmware date: 2015-05-25
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 66

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.31/ID61
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Any help would be appreciated! :D

Hi jumping in here too, I also have a Pioneer drive I've received recently in the mail. Want to make it UHD disc compatible, can it be done? It is a BDR-209EBK and was manufactured in June 2014. Here is the MakeMKV information.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr1
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-209M
Revision: 1.20
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2014-04-08
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.20/ID60
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted
Worth pointing out just to avoid wasting anyone's time is that I'm currently unconfident in flashing it over the "USB 3.0 to IDE/SATA" device I have it plugged into to so I will do it in a few months when I do have a new case with internal optical drive support. I'd just like to get everything in order beforehand.
Hi once again, still ready to go with flashing. Have a Windows 11 PC and flashing this drive internally via SATA is the last thing I now need to do before I can wipe the machine over with Linux partitions and move on entirely from the OS. If anyone can help let me know.

Edit: Just because it reads slightly differently now its internal. Here is the MakeMKV Metadata.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-209M
Revision: 1.20
Serial number: NFDL016068WL
Firmware date: 2014-04-08
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 77

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.20/ID60
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
