Just took the Process Monitor for a test drive. Very neat trick.
Cyberlink played 641 for me.

I'm glad my video helps you guys out. Remember to set the filter for mpls and you will find any movies mpls playlist file. This also works if you choose French, English extended unrated version, ect ect. Best to watch my other bluray authoring videos if you run into troubles with mkv tsmuxer or ea3to...

I have done a lot more research on my Audio dropout issue on the John Wick BR disk. The consensus seems to be that it is not a TrueHD+Atmos problem, but rather is related to Complex Seamless Branching. I am not sure what exactly that is, but I understand it is related to piecing together a bunch of small files to play the movie.

Shouldn't that be done during the rip of the BD to mkv? I am using t174 (00589 mpls) and am still getting the audio dropouts? I do not get it if I only rip the 5.1 track for audio. I do not have Atmos capable equipment and I should be able to the TrueHD with no issue.

Any help or explanation from someone smarter than me would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Just an fyi for Canadian John Wick owners,

The EOne retail version in Canada is 00772.mpls

Ripped & checked against the original OK.

Segment map is: 508,501,503,511,510,516,520,518,507,512,519,513,509,517,515,506,514,504,502,505

I got the US BluRay/DVD/Digital combo version at Best Buy, and playlist 202 has this segment map. Looks like it's the correct order.

Man... this BR is the biggest pain in the @$$. I have a copy I got from Amazon that has the BR+DVD+Digital. I tried the 589 that others have suggested and that doesn't work. What I mean by that is that once it is ripped it will not play and if I try to transcode it with Handbreak it will not detect an audio track even though I know it is there. I have AnyDVD and it says that PL202 (it also matches the chapter list others have posted) is the main one so I tried that as well and get the same thing. Do these guys really have nothing better to do that make life difficult for those of use that have legal copies and also have the legal right to make back up of it? The bar code on the package is 0 31398 21104 4 80. here is the report from AnyDVD...

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD HD 7.6.2.0, BDPHash.bin 15-07-01)
ASUS BC-12B1ST 1.01 2011/04/20 21:37
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Current profile: BD-ROM
Media is a Blu-ray disc.

Total size: 23610688 sectors (46114 MBytes)
Video Blu-ray label: JOHN_WICK
Media is AACS protected!
Drive supports bus encryption!
Disc wants bus encryption!
AACS MKB version 53
Removed AACS copy protection!
Note: automatic detection of region code not possible with this disc.
Blu-ray Java signatures fixed!
BD-Live deactivated!
Sony structural BD-J protection removed!
Java BD protection good playlists: 202

Anyone else have any luck with this release? Thanks

HandBrake doesn't support Dolby Atmos at all, make sure to include the TrueHD track and not the TrueHD/Atmos one. And I would go with AnyDVD's playlist recommendation.

I have the same disc; Ripped to MKV (PL 202) and no problem playing it in JRMC or Kodi.

For information, the French rent version of John Wick is the 00413.mpls file.

Here are the m2ts files included in this playlist (with beginning and ending scenes of each files) and in the correct order :

00108.m2ts Beginning of the movie..... discussing with his friend Marcus and it's raining
00105.m2ts under the rain with Marcus..... receiving a package at home
00101.m2ts John sign for a package..... goes to sleep with the dog
00197.m2ts dog wakes up..... John gets up
00110.m2ts dog is going outside..... John gives cereales to the dog
00102.m2ts John talk to the dog..... John is fighting in his house and someone rings at home
00107.m2ts John is going to open his door..... a cop is in front of the door
00104.m2ts John is talking with the cop..... the cop is leaving home
00106.m2ts John is closing his door..... John is talking in a green bar with a woman
00103.m2ts John is talking in a green bar with a woman..... End of the movie

It takes me some minutes to assemble the puzzle from the m2ts files, and some more to find the corresponding mpls file with the BDInfo software.

Enjoy

Just an update. Rotty and I have created an app for screen pass and m2ts searches. You get get it on Slysoft forums under third party products. We have been trying to find ways to automate this process. Also released updated screen pass videos for newer movies like insurgant and others ;) Until next time......

Links to everything in the top sticky thread on there. Enjoy.....

3 is either the DD dts trailer or the FBI warning. I know this is an old movie but still important info as all movies have a sound trailer or FBI warning before the main movie.
