made sure to run Sami's tool
https://www.mediafire.com/file/nwyuzcrn ... C.tgz/file
but just few minutes later it started working and Sami's tool now says key is present
keydb file works for anydvd and XR but doesn't work on Makemkv
Was able to rip with former 2 programs but not MakeMKV v1.18.1
Also manually copied latest keydb to makemkv folder but no joy
No need to manually copy it using my tool. It means the entry for your disc has a unit key but no VUK. Posting the tgz dump was the right thing to do but in the meantime you can use xreveal to decrypt real-time and open the disc with makemkv.

Thanks for that bit of info.. as said before "Amazing Tool"
I ripped to iso using XR (paid version--always support authors).
Will this rip using a unit key vs using a VUK be any different?
TIA

Nope, it's just about how the disc is decrypted. MakeMKV is still processing it either way.

Multiple keys for The Transformers: The Movie 4K UHD exist in the database already, but I guess my copy matches none of them.

Hey hardverk, you were fortunate this time that your
F1 disc shared a media key with an earlier variant. In the future please use an LG/Asus drive to generate disc dumps for this thread

Thanks. I did use my pioneer. Will make sure to use my Asus for dumps going forward.

Thanks, I think your disk is already in the
KEYDB.cfg file, so all you should need do is download it, copy it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MAkeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and then restart MakeMKV.
Alternatively, if you're running Windows then you could try using SamuriHL's
helper utility to simplify the process.

Could you also provide the (zipped)
AACS/MKB_RO.inf file from your physical UHD disk please? The copy of this file inside your TGZ dump file has been truncated to only 56 bytes, which makes it useless to anyone other than MakeMKV itself.
