Does the announcement, that all Poineer drives are now LibreDrive supported mean that even post Nov-2022 firmware drives can now be crossflashed?
viewtopic.php?t=37848
Looking to buy a recent model of these for 4K discs.

Maybe Coopervid could help me (or someone else) with the good flasher and firmware
Thanks in advance

I *thought* I had gotten lucky and randomly found this drive brand new at an overstock warehouse type of place, but alas the firmware is 1.02.
However, it sounds like some effort and progress is being made to get these drives with this problematic firmware able to read/rip UHD discs? I can wait to do it, but am just wondering if I should hold onto this drive or go ahead and return it while I can since I am trying to stockpile a few drives for this specific purpose. It seems I fell asleep at the wheel the last couple of months and missed the news about all PC optical drives no longer being manufactured. I knew it was coming, but was hoping it wasn't going to happen as soon as it did
Thank you for any direction on this.
