Hello. I have this Blueray drive laying around and I want to know if it is possible to flash it, since I saw a firmware available for BU40N. Would that work with my drive?

I was looking into getting an internal 9.5mm drive and came across this listing, but the price seemed too good to be true, so I did not go any further with it. Not sure how to determine if it's truly a fake store or not, but I'm very skeptical of it:

As far as I can tell there is no need to flash the drive, since everything says "Yes" and the status says "Enabled". It should work out of the box.
I may be totally wrong since I am also new to this. Just give it a try with a UHD Blueray

That's differently fake and a scam site

What does the output of MakeMKV look like? Does it mention a missing volume key? If so you need to download these separately

LibreDrive does not equal UHD readaiblity! Is the 209M an actual UHD drive?? If not, it needs to be cross-flashed to a UHD model.

It's not a UHD drive. I would like to know if flashing to a UHD model is even possible with my drive.
@Morbinus
It doesn't recognize that a disc is inserted.

Post your MakeMKV drive info/libredrive info sections.
Did you flash BU40N 1.03-MK first? This should be done first to remove the original firmware encryption. You can then flash to BU40N 1.00 afterwards.

Hi all.
I just got a ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.11 and accidentally flashed it to BC-12D2HT 3.11.
It seems to work ok for makemkv, but now it's stuck on that firmware.
What can I do to flash it to "ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014" which is what is what it should be.
Thanks

I have Apollo 13 on 4K... got as a gift, and in the process of ripping now.
It comes up as a BD-ROM drive, not that I would burn a 4k disc,
but is the drive now unable to burn any kind of disc?
