I managed to find another ASUS BW‑16D1X‑U (Pioneer) unit with the full factory set.
These drives are getting harder and harder to find.

Hi skyrider,
I am interested in purchasing a pre-flashed Pioneer 5.25" drive setup.
I am building a dedicated media archiving workstation using a Dell Precision 7750 laptop that I will be keeping entirely offline after setup. Because of this, I need a rock-solid, LibreDrive-enabled setup that can natively decrypt and rip standard Blu-rays and 4K Ultra HD discs completely independent of an internet connection. I also plan on burning archival media occasionally. Do you currently have any inventory for a full-sized 5.25" Pioneer drive already mounted inside a powered external USB enclosure (such as a Vantec NexStar or OWC Mercury Pro)?
If so, could you let me know:
1. Which specific Pioneer drive model/firmware combination you recommend for this offline setup?
2. The total price for a fully assembled external USB bundle shipped to [USA 49504]?
Thank you for your time and for supporting the community!
Best regards,

Hmmm, interesting, i always thought the system has to have an internet connection due to "Decrypting the keys required to rip 4K movies"?
i never tried to have my internet shutdown before, for ripping duties, because i always thought it needs to be online for that purpose..
i may be wrong, but it will be something new that i learn daily.

Actually, MakeMKV only needs internet access when it has to retrieve or update the latest hashed keys. Once the necessary key data is already available locally, UHD ripping can be performed completely offline.

Exactly right, until there is a new retail SKU, or a never-ripped disc whose key is not in the last keys download.
