Run synchronize.bat and move the new version to the folder. 2 versions of the movie have just been added.

Yeah, I had just done that, but no luck with vanilla MakeMKV. Tried Any DVD and it worked.

Wow... I completely forgot I had changed this a long time ago and was racking my brain to understand as to why the keydb.cfg file was not read by Makemkv... Thanks!

Download FindVUK 1.72.

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=172472

Put it somewhere.

Run FindVUK - Synchronize.bat

It will write a file keydb.cfg to C:\users\USERNAME\Appdata\Roamimg\AACS

Make a copy of this file and copy to:

C:\users\USERNAME\.Makemkv

Put your disc in the drive.

Run Makemkv.

Then run the Synchronize.bat from time to time in order to get new UHD keys. Replace the updated one and copy to the .Makemkv folder.
I couldn't get the version in the link to download and found the v1.72 elsewhere. I can't get this to work, even after using someone's suggestion of adding a line to the batch file. It put the keydb.cfg in the /.Makemkv folder but all of the discs I've been inserting are still creating dump files and failing. I'm a bit confused how this is working for some?

i get the same thing. no download or anything. I wondering if something is blocking the download? chrome, antivirus or my router. any thoughts anyone?

The latest FindVUK is now 1.75. See FindVUK thread on Doom9.

why not just edit the config file for FindVUK to keep the keybd.cfg in the correct place for MakeMKV, saves you from having to do loads of manual labour in the long run?

...because programs like AnyDVD and XReveal expect it in the default location. So what's the difficulty to modify the batch file as outlined?

And you can change the location of your keydb.cfg in xreveal as well, copying same file to multiple (if you have xreveal as well) seems unnecessary and "an accident" waiting to happen

They really don't. Xreveal will search for it in the roaming/aacs directory, yes, but AnyDVD doesn't even know about any of the locations until you tell it. And changing it in Xreveal is pretty easy. Whereas you CAN'T configure where MakeMKV looks for it. So changing the config is a viable option for sure.

You are right. But changing defaults always asks for trouble. I have seen many cases when people changed the default .Makemkv folder and then had trouble doing that. Especially adding Keydb.cfg. Therefore I still like the KISS approach. Especially if people are not very computer savvy.
