Though it will probably be way faster than when you create MKVs from a disc.
Okay... made the back-up
Tried opening different .bmdv files (File > Open Files or File > Open DVD Manually), but then nothing happens.
I have tried:
  • /certificate/id.bdmv
  • /bdmv/MovieObj.bdmv
  • /bdmv/index.bdmv
Did you backup to a folder first? Or are you trying to do this from the disc itself? (I don't usually end up in the "open DVD manually" step is why I'm asking). I just go to open file, to the folder where the backup is, and then within that folder is a file called "BDMV" which I choose as the item to open and then it does (this "file" is actually a package that has various components inside of it, but on MacOS you have to right-click and choose "show package contents" in order for it to show the contents). I'm doing this on MacOS so its possible there are some slight differences if you're doing this on Windows or Linux, which I can't help with.

[Edit] Looking more closely I think your problem is that you're going to "Open DVD Manually." Don't do that. Just choose Open File and then select the file called "BDMV."
