Thank you
DeUHD and MakeMKV are two COMPLETELY different applications. No relation in development. What is supported by DeUHD may/will not necessarily work with MakeMKV.
Mike (MakeMKV developer) has explicitly provided us with a list of drives that may work with MakeMKV in the first post in this thread with instructions. It can’t be more clear that the drive you mention is not listed there.

I forget who was it that flashed the wh16ns60? And what service code was it?
These are on sale for $70 at Fry’s or 40% off.
Wondering if I should buy any.
ASUS there are two stores left wkthin 50 miles of me with Asus after that it’s so cal Texas and Georgia.
BH16NS40 are clearance status so they might be going away.
I’m mailing off 4 drives today to folks off this board and avs forum.

Official drives are NOT yet supported by MakeMKV. Mike has said they may be in the future. Until he updates the software to support the official drives on that list, you can ONLY use the UHD Friendly drives for UHD ripping.
EDIT: UNLESS, it supports cross-flashing to make it a UHD Friendly drive.

You mean the other famous Italian? jgirot? SVC code: NS60, Mfr: June 2017, ROM Ver: 1.00

That's up to you my friend. I've been told that there are still plenty of friendly drives out there. And the WH16NS60's require cross-flashing to be friendly. If there are friendly drives out there that only require down-grading to earlier f/w, that might be better than cross-flashing?!

I meant Christopher Colombus, but you'll do
I just noticed this $198 HP Elite 8200 refurbished job has bios that'll allow you to boot into IDE mode. Hmmm.

Hi guys
@TeddyRaspin gave me a hand with the Asus BW-16D1HT, and it worked amazingly well for a while
It doesn't work anymore though, even regular Blu-rays keep on spinning and rarely mount.. after that, multiple read problems (HARDWARE ERROR: TIMEOUT ON LOGICAL UNIT) which lead nowhere
Anybody else had this issues?
Thanks

I bought a LG WH16NS40, firmware 1.03, manufactured March 2018
I spits the discs out. Will the same firmware mod procedure on the Asus BW-16D1HT apply to LG WH16NS40?
I read posts about 1.02 but found nothing about 1.03
Any experience with this one?

Got the same drive last week w/ 1.03, which closes the necessary 'loophole'.
Downgraded using bootable USB drive per the instructions detailed here:

If it shows the Service Code of NS50 or higher, it should read UHD disks, at least to the point of being able to show the disk being loaded.
