Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?
Yours is a LG drive. You should be able to flash it directly to WH16NS60 1.02-MK and you are good to go.qitsnm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 25, 2025 10:06 pmI am looking for the firmware but I see that my Revision number is different than the others in this thread.
Can anybody point me to the correct firmware?

Hi there Coopervid I didn't want to get missed in that slew of requests. Is this drive possible?upb123 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 25, 2025 5:06 amHi there, I also have the same drive. Might I trouble ya for the firmware as well?
Please and thank you![]()

Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?
Hi! A few months ago, I successfully flashed my ASUS BW-16D1X-U using HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin from "The all you need firmware pack". All was well. I could read all kinds of discs -- until today, when the drive suddenly stopped reading any kind of disc. This is not an issue of a given dirty or damaged disc. Nothing -- not even CDs -- is recognized. I can insert a disc manually, and I can open the drive tray using the eject button in MakeMKV, but nothing is recognized, and I just see "No disc inserted".
Before assuming the drive is dead (though it may be?), I thought I would try re-flashing the firmware. So I downloaded the relevant files again, and followed the "Mac/linux commands to flash" (I have a Mac) in the "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025". The output from the process concluded with "Done successfully". However, the drive still doesn't recognize any inserted disc of any kind.
Here's the info from MakeMKV:
Any ideas? Anything else I can check? I should note that I've done this with all other peripherals (other than my monitor and the ASUS BW-16D1X-U itself) disconnected, with the physical ASUS BW-16D1X-U drive plugged directly into the computer (no hubs or anything).
If the drive has to be declared dead [sigh

Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?
Most likely dead.
Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?
So I have feared.
Well, Amazon US lists a "Produplicator LG BP60NB10", which I am guessing is (or is the equivalent of, or contains) the "BP60NB10 NB10/12" listed in the "Recommended UHD Drives to get" section of the "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025". Is my guess likely to be correct? I might have to get myself a late Xmas present.

There seem relatively limited options for recommended plug'n'play external drives. (I'd prefer to not mess about with putting an internal drive in an external enclosure, if possible!) I suppose I can try to find one of the other LG options on eBay, if not Amazon.

You can go for it.carlsefni wrote: ↑Fri Dec 26, 2025 8:14 pmhttps://a.co/d/3B4oVNH

Power off the drive and computer completely for a few minutes then reboot both. Sometimes drives can get in a confused state and won’t recognise any discs.
Cheers
