Do you happen to know if this drive has an flash chip ?
Than it would be possible to flash (downgrade) firmware before 12/2022.
Tomorow I will check the drive internaly if I can find some kind of flash chip.

You need a drive that is lower/ equal 1.02. If the firmware is newer, it will be encrypted and older firmwares can't be flashed to the drive.

Does someone have this firmware 1.02 for the BDR-212 because I can not find it.

Update: nevermind I have found the file "BDR-212EBK_UBK_FW102EU.exe"

Now I got to figure out how to extract firmware from the executable and use a DOS flasher to force the flash.

Any advice/recommendations on this are very welcome !

Hi, I've recently discovered that I can't archive UHD disks. But I've read that this can be fixed with a firmware update. Unfortunately the guide I found here (viewtopic.php?p=74718) doesn't mention my drive platform "RS8510". Any options for my drive (https://www.asus.com/de/motherboards-co ... sbw06d2xu/)? It's an Pioneer drive (BDR-UD03ASW) inside an ASUS case, which I know because I already needed to open it up for some repairs. Which firmware do I need/where can I download it? If I understood it right, the flashing of the fw should be as easy as altering and running the makemkvcon64 command from the guide mentioned above?

Here's the info from MakeMKV:

Code: Select all

Laufwerksinformation
OS-Gerätename: \Device\CdRom0
Aktuelles Profil: BD-ROM
Produzent: ASUS
Produkt: SBW-06D2X-U
Revision: 1.10
Serienummer: ~
Firmware-Datum: 2017-04-18
Markierungen der Bus-Verschlüsselung: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8510
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.10/ID22
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Keine Disk eingelegt
Any help is much appreciated :)

It worked, thanks a bunch! Though one question, the read speed seems to be quite low for UHD disks (around 0.2x-1.3x), is this normal?
