It's the hardest of all to flash but it can work but the best Uhd drive are pioneers
Is it hard to flash just because you have to flash it in succession with multiple firmwares like
BP50NB40 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK then to > BP60NB10 1.02MK or 1.00MK
Or is there something else to be wary of?
Also how can I tell if that one I linked is
svc nb50+ vs svc nb40
to determine if it's flashable or will brick? Or is that something I have to check after I have the drive in hand?
Thanks for your response Billycar. This UHD flashing guide is awesome.
just because it requires multiple.
on the box it should say most are nb52 now

Hello everyone,
Dumb question: I am having an issue using the command line on Mac to flash my drive. Can I flash it on Windows with the GUI, then use it on my Mac?

Ordered an wh16ns40 on amazon. Was able to flash to firmware 1.02 using the youtube video link. it says libre drive is enabled and i'm on mt1959. When i put a disc into the drive, it doesn't recognize it however. It doesn't recognize blu-rays either. i forgot to put a bluray in when i first received the drive. Any suggestions? Or is this a dead drive?
I'm connected via this external sata adapter w/usb plug and separate power cable. Here's the link:

Is it one of the recommend adapters not all powered adapters support optical drives
And what's the build date on the drive case

It's probably the adapters did it work before you flashed it?
Get one of the recommend ones if not first post has some

I just retrieved an Asus BC-12D2HT with firmware 3.00, manufactured early 2016. It looks like it's UHD friendly out of the box... are there any good reasons to flash it to a newer firmware such as 3.11_MK, or should I stay with 3.00 ?
