It's not necessarily about power (power does matter) - it's about the USB -> SATA chipset & how completely/accurately it impliments the SATA standard. You won't find that listed in any specs. Must try/test with the adapter. Thank you for your reply. You told me the truth, my drive is already ready for UHD Blu-ray. I managed to play the disc directly in VLC, AFTER having to update the makemkv registry. I added some extra files to the VLC Player folder, and I don't know if that's why it plays. However, it's not playing in MPC-be. Do I have to put those same files in the MPC folder? Is MPC-be really the best player for this?
