Thanks a lot Coopervid. All set and working
BTW I always wonder if it is worth it changing the drive's read and write settings (for longevity reasons, quality of reading/writing, etc) or should I just leave them by default?

Regarding reading I let it a max. speed and Pioneers are not the fastest readers anyway for UHDs. They are limited to 4x speed.
Writing is a different animal while I don't write discs anymore at all. I store everything on HDD which is also cheaper and use a player to feed my AVR with movies. Writing 25 GB discs is also a no-brainer. However, if you want to use >= 50GB discs that is a challenge these days since disc quality has gone south and almost all have isues at the layer break. If you still want to burn these you should follow this guide that was originally posted in the Redfox forum. kitahoshi posted it here:

Hello, I recently purchased 2 BDR-212V drives (Only one is currently installed). I recently got some UHDs and would love to enable UHD on this drive (well both drives technically).
Assuming that the drive details are the same (I haven't had a chance to install the other drive to check) Will I be able to swap out the drives and repeat the instructions, or will I need to make another request?
Here is the Makemkv drive info for the drive that's currently installed:
Code: Select all
Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-212V
Revision: 1.02
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2022-05-31
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 68
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID06
Thank you!
