Yea that’s all findvuk under the covers. Disc info is mine. They really don’t interact at all.
So, in your Disc Info comment, can you add the steps so people know what to do?
1. Backup to folder (leave decrypt unchecked)
2. Delete the AACS directory
3. Open index.bdmv in MakeMKV
4. Create MKV file.

Copy that. So handling the return code from FindVUK could still work, but I get it if you don't want to add it for this edge case.

1. Backup to folder
Backup to folder (with decrypt unchecked). That's important, or you'll be buggered right back in the same spot failing to decrypt the disc.
Explaining the workaround would save / would have saved us poor souls countless hours, but I would understand if he's reluctant to add output about another specific app (MakeMKV).
Since it's a known issue, do we know why this hasn't been prioritized to get fixed in MakeMKV (other than 'all features are unimplemented by default')?

No.

(You'll see why shortly)

KeyDB Assistant v1.1.0.1 Released — New MakeMKV Folder Backup & Settings
This update adds a MakeMKV folder Backup feature and a related settings option.
What's new:
• New Backup button on the main toolbar.
• Creates a full folder backup of the inserted disc using makemkvcon64 backup.
• If a matching key exists in your KeyDB, it creates a decrypted_<DiscTitle> backup.
• If no key is found, it creates an encrypted_<DiscTitle> backup.
• Special handling for discs with a bogus AACS folder where the content is not actually encrypted: the backup is run in MakeMKV's encrypted mode to avoid corruption/failure, the output is labeled decrypted_<DiscTitle>, and the AACS directory is automatically removed afterward.
• Backup Folder Location setting added to the Settings dialog.
• Disc Info now detects non-encrypted discs and recommends using the Backup button; it also notes that the resulting folder backup can be opened directly in MakeMKV.
• Live MakeMKV output is displayed in the status window during backup.
• If a backup folder with the same name already exists, you are prompted to overwrite it.
