The host does go down for a bit randomly from time to time but I've found that certain DNS servers aren't helpful. Google is one of the ones I find to not resolve it half the time. Cloudfare is another one that doesn't always work. I have a private adgaurd server so I have multiple DNS resolution services defined.

You need to download and configure the public key database file. The public keydb is a community driven project which MakeMKV can utilise as an alternative key source.

You can download the keydb from here: http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/ (Direct link).

After the download has finished, you'll have a file named keydb_eng.zip. Extract/decompress this zip file and you'll get the keydb.cfg file.

If you do not unzip the downloaded zip file MakeMKV will not be able to use it. MakeMKV will not try to parse the keydb_eng.zip file. It will only read the extracted keydb.cfg

Finally, you'll need to copy the extracted keydb.cfg into the MakeMKV data directory. The default locations for each platform are:
Windows: C:\Users\<Your Username>\.MakeMKV\
Linux: /home/<Your Username>/.MakeMKV/
macOS: /Users/<Your Username>/.MakeMKV/ (I might be wrong about this one)

To account for case-sensitive filesystems, such as most Linux options and potentially macOS, you may need to rename the keydb.cfg file to KEYDB.cfg. This shouldn't be required on Windows.
