Thanks so much for these, Marty!! It's really appreciated!!
Will the BP50NB40 1.03 firmware work for a BP55EB40 SVC: EB52 as well?
These original flashers only work for that particular model, so no.

Just curious, probably won't ever need these original flashers. My BH16NS55 is crossflashed to WH16NS60. If I ever was to downgrade to original FW, which original flasher should I use. 55 or 60? I assume 55 or is workflow first crossflash back to 55 and then apply original 55 flasher?

There's a LG universal flashing tool which recognize the right model or firmware by itself.

Well you didn't say which original firmware. If you want to go back to original NS55 firmware, you would first have to flash a NS55 MK version that is lower than the original NS55 flasher firmware version, then use the NS55 original flasher.

Yes thanks. I meant back to original NS55, which the drive label states it is

Would this tool know what is the truly original if the drive was crossflashed.

I can't say it just now. Check it out, it will talk to you before you can start the flashing process.
It could be that it recognize the WH16NS60-Firmware and will take this as base for the flashing.
If you're unsure with useing the tool I can test it later after work with a BH16NS55 @ WH16NS60 1.02MK and report back here.
Or Marty can say it here right now with a lot more of expierience.

No, it would go by what the firmware is on the drive. If NS60 firmware, it would think the drive is a NS60.

Hi everyone,
If anyone is looking for the original BU40N 1.05 firmware, here is the official LG Updater exe.
https://www.mediafire.com/file_premium/ ... r.zip/file
Only use this to restore your BU40N back to the original 1.05 firmware. This firmware is not UHD enabled!

Does anybody have the original BU40N 1.05 firmware suitable for a Verbatim 43888-BU40N drive ?
This one hangs at 48% and the drive is semi-bricked (stuck as boot). It can be reflashed first using DELL flasher as described in another topic.

The Verbatim 43888 contains a LG BU40N. This LG flasher is the correct flasher to restore it back to v1.05. I have not heard from anyone else having any issues using it. I heard the dell one is indentical, just v1.03 instead. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

I could read it there :
viewtopic.php?p=196092#p196092
It was exactly same story, stuck at 48%
Looks like the LG 1.05 can't be applied on all Verbatim 43888-BU40N, for a reason I don't know.

Well... it looks like my verbatim enclosure and/or USB cable (which was shipped with) doesn't handle USB3 very well/are defective - although new.
I tried and failed on 2 different laptops before.
I use a cheap cable, it was connected using USB2, and everything went fine.
