MakeMKV can open ISO files directly (from menu, select File-Open). For DVD ISOs MakeMKV will open even CSS-encrypted ISO files, so for most discs imgburn alone should be sufficient. Having up to date version of AnyDVD won't hurt but is not required. That's applies to DVD. For blu-ray MakeMKV's full disc backup has number of advantages over AnyDVD.
