Update:
I just setup my new external bluray 12x drive with external power. So far so good. It cracked through like it was nothing and now it's holding steady at 3.8x on the rip. Here's hoping this works!

UPDATE:
This is late but I figured out that the problem was my drive. It was too slow (6x). I have a 12x now and everything works perfectly fine. Thanks for the assistance guys!

I was having this same error with the new Ant-man and the Wasp. It was giving the same error. I read this post and thought I might have to do the same, get a new drive, but a reboot / restart was in order before I went that far.
Thinking I might try again, I removed the disk and got a lot of Medium not present errors, MakeMKV appeared to hang. I wanted to start over, but I stuck the disk back in and low and behold I got the typical messages about scenes not being at least 120 seconds long and soon had the popup of the parts of the movie ready to be copied. It's ripping now apparently without problems.
Thought I'd add this in case it helps someone else.

This one won't rip no matter what I try. I have the same both the extended cut and the theatrical.
