Ubuntu VLC use MakeMKV
Re: Ubuntu VLC use MakeMKV
No need to apologize, I don't put a timeline on favors!
Re: Ubuntu VLC use MakeMKV
Thank you for your patience. Anyway, the issue with flatpak Kodi is that it lacks the MakeMKV and Blu-ray menus flatpak plugins that flatpak VLC has.
I couldn't get it to work. Flatpak apps are sandboxed and I don't believe what you're asking for is doable with minimal tinkering. In fact, I suppose the correct way to do this would be to create and maintain your own flatpak plugins for Kodi, based on the flatpak VLC plugins.
You could also try using VLC and its plugins instead of Kodi, but unlike Kodi or mpv, VLC is going to handle Dolby Atmos poorly if you ever run into it, and you might need to tinker a bit for HDR to SDR mapping as well.

Well that's a bit of a shame, but I suppose replacing Manjaro with SteamOS is more trouble than it's worth anyway. As I would mostly be watching concert films, audio issues on VLC would very much be a problem.
Thank you for checking it out for me!

For what it's worth, you really don't need SteamOS to be able to play Steam games on Linux. Not to mention that as far as I know, you can't use an Nvidia GPU with SteamOS. And even with a full AMD computer such as mine, I have never felt the need to change distros and install SteamOS.but I suppose replacing Manjaro with SteamOS is more trouble than it's worth anyway.
