Thanks

enc, not main?

I did finally get it to work. I had to downgrade to 1.17.7. It seemed to work alright. I'm currently making a mkv from a bluray disc. We'll see if it works.

Should I have done enc instead of main? Do I need to do it again?
yes had to be enc

You will need to cross flash it to Pioneer BDR-S11.

Flash WH16NS60 1.02 accorning to this thread:

viewtopic.php?t=19634

Thanks for the answer. Before I flash, I want to be sure about two things for my drive :
My firmware date shows as 2120-12-02. I assume this means it is a 2020 encrypted firmware, so I would use rawflash enc. Is that correct?
The guide says Asus drives should first go to Asus BW-16D1HT 3.10MK, while you recommended WH16NS60 1.02. Which one is safe for the BW-16D1X-U? I’m on macOS, so I would use makemkvcon with sdf.bin on 1.17.7. Is that fine, or is there a safer way?

Yes. All your assumptions are correct. A sidegrade to Asus 3.10 before flashing WH16NS58 is most likely the safest approach.

I'll get my BW-16D1X-U in a few days so i read a bit in this forum.
Reading this thread gives me the impression people are quite relaxed here 👍
Now to my question :
MovieManager12345 posted his mkv info saying drive platform is RS8600 for his BW-16D1X-U, not MT1959 as expected.

So I guess the drives in BW-16D1X-U can be from different manufacturers? Or is it possible to flash other wrong fw to get such results?

THNX in advance

They can have either a Pioneer or LG drive inside the enclosure. Some lucky people get a Pioneer!
Cheers :D

And why the sidegrade to the Asus 3.10 (i.e. DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK) is not enough? Why is it needed the WH16NS60 1.02? Is there any improvement regarding the Asus one?

Billycar11, what's this sleepbug actually do though? Is it the drive dropping out when it idles mid-rip, or something else... (not come across it myself)

How did you first spot it, mate, just from the drive acting up or did you read about it somewhere?

See guide for full discription
But if you leave a UHD disc idle for 2 mins and the drive spins down it will not spin backup
