Hi Coopervid,

I recently purchased a Verbatim 43889 external Blu-ray drive with a Pioneer BDR-UD03 inside.

I would like to enable UHD Blu-ray reading, if possible.

Here is my MakeMKV drive information:

**Drive Information**
- Manufacturer: PIONEER
- Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
- Revision: 1.14
- Firmware date: 2020-06-15
- Bus encryption flags: 1B

**LibreDrive Information**
- Status: Enabled
- Drive platform: RS8511
- Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
- Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
- Firmware version: 1.14

Would it be possible to get your help with the appropriate firmware and flashing tool for this drive?

Thank you very much for your time and help!

I also have a Pioneer BDR-UD03. I wanted to make it UHD friendly I flashed the drive with the files for the BDR-UD03. Thu Gui program said success, but nothing changed. It still sees BD only not UDH.
Should i use the BDR-UD04 flash files?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Joris222

I cross flashed my UD03 with the freemkv flasher.

I downloaded this flashing tool https://freemkv.org/firmware/flash/
and this firmware https://freemkv.org/firmware/find/?driv ... ision=1.14

Go to the flash tab, choose firmware and pick the file. Press Flash now and it will run a few tests and back up the original firmware, then confirm if you want to proceed. It will flash and then run some tests to check it's working and it's done.
