I don''t believe that is the issue. This worked fine before I updated the OS on my MacBook. And I do not believe the firmware on my Pioneer has changed since it worked
Do you have any MakeMKV log files from before you updated your MacBook's OS? I am wondering if the update process quietly updated your drive's firmware at the same timeMike_Copy_Di wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 3:39 pm This worked fine before I updated the OS on my MacBook. This is the first time we have heard of this. We are running the latest version of Mac OS, and this upgrade has not happened on any of our drives. Forced updates is something we have not seen.MrPenguin wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 7:13 pmDo you have any MakeMKV log files from before you updated your MacBook's OS? Hi Mike_Copy_Di,Mike_Copy_Di wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 3:18 pm I can look for the log files and check the dates. Where can I find them on my MacBook Pro??
Earlier you implied that your drive previously supported UHD discs:Mike_Copy_Di wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:49 am Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have no reason to believe the firmware for the Pioneer was updated.
I do believe that the issue was caused by the MacOS update.
If you were previously able to use your Pioneer drive to backup UHD discs, it must have been with a different firmware version. MakeMKV has never supported UHD titles with the firmware currently installed on your drive. It is possible that MakeMKV will never support your firmware version.Mike_Copy_Di wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 3:33 am Since my Mac has updated to Sequoia I have not been able to copy UHD discs.
Blu-Ray and DVD copy fine.
If you still want to rip UHDs you should move on and get a new drive. PM me for recommendations. And BTW - this has nothing to do with AACS 2.1 support and should be posted as a separate topic.Mike_Copy_Di wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 4:17 pm The drive did and I have movies on my hard drive that I ripped using the Pioneer drive.
Do you perchance have avg anti-virus with driver update feature?Mike_Copy_Di wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 4:17 pm The drive did and I have movies on my hard drive that I ripped using the Pioneer drive.
A new AACS 2.1 disc would be an interesting development. Could you please attach the dump file here or at least post the dump file name?roopdoge wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 10:33 pm Just got a no key available issue with Heretic 4K UHD which was using AACS 2.1.
post the disc info also from makemkvroopdoge wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 10:33 pm Just got a no key available issue with Heretic 4K UHD which was using AACS 2.1.
