OWC also sells through Amazon:
OWC Mercury Pro.
Thanks,

I'm looking to purchase an internal Pioneer but I can't make out the difference between the available models. What is the difference between Pioneer 212, BDR-213, 2213, BDR-S13UBK, BDR-S13U-X. My understanding is that they all read at the same speed (BD100 at 90 minutes). Is my understanding wrong, are some faster, are some more reliable?
Can someone please enlighten me as to why I would choose any of the four. Thank you.

not sure why this was asked in 3 places email here and reddit but
i found the xd08 to be the most reliable and durable actually had all of those other pioneers die in the mail even with 2 inches of foam and 2 inches of bubble wrap and being double boxed.
the are pretty much functionally the same the 212 and 213 and s13 just use slightly better components and more sound dampening
but sadly all drives are gone for now i will get more pioneers but very limited amounts only way to get them is to follow here and get my paypal links in an email so order asap when they go up

Hrmmmm so I have just ordered the Vantec NexStar DX2 enclosure to house my Pioneer BDR-S09J and I certainly don’t want the enclosure to fry my drive…
The problem is, the Pioneer S09 has depth of 181mm, which means it won’t fit inside the OWC Mercury Pro Enclosure.
Is there another recommended enclosure? I liked the looks of the Vantec enclosure - what a shame it has some power issues!

nah you just kinda have to deal with it slot the tabs or bend them
and someone made a 3d printable file to extend the front so it appears to not stick out

Or you can go simple: Shove the drive as far back in the OWC case as you can, and then put a piece of 3M VHB double-sided tape at the back and stick the drive to the bottom of the case. Securely held, but minimizes the protuberance.
Don't use too big a piece of VHB or you'll never get the drive out again.

I asked in this thread if the Vantec would work and I never got an answer. Only people telling me answers to questions I never asked. So I went ahead and bought one and it works great!

My apologies. I must not have been clear. I just wanted to know if the Vantec would work. It is nice to know why you recommend the OWC.

I have Vantec cases on all my drives and I concur with Billy's advice to skip them. I just had one die. Unsure if it took the drive with it (it's an LG thankfully) but while I've had no other issues with my other cases, why chance it? Get OWC and sleep better at night. It's not like you can easily replace drives these days. I plan on replacing all my Vantec cases one at a time with OWC.
