SDFtool Flasher updated to v1.3.6. Just a couple of code adjustments and minor bug fixes.
Any issues using it, you can go back to the previous version. Download links for both are in the first post.

Sadly the gui of this tool appears very small on my screen and refuses to allow itself to be increased in size.

Did you see the note near the top of the first post in this thread?
NOTE: If the GUI looks a bit deformed (happens on a 4k monitor), you can right click the exe and select properties. In the compatibility tab, click "Change high DPI settings" then under "High DPI scaling override" tick the box and select "System (Enhanced)" in the dropbox.

Hello! I am new to this so not sure what I'm doing. Everything seems like it should work but everytime I go to flash, I get an error. I don't know if I'm just dense and not selecting the proper one or what.
Code: Select all
Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: MO9O3UB4727
Firmware date: 2120-12-01 17:16
Bus encryption flags: 1F
Highest AACS version: 64
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible (with patched firmware)
Drive platform: MT1959
Harware support: Yes
Firmware support: No
Firmware type: Original (patched version available)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw data read: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw metadata read: Possible (with patched firmware)
Unrestricted read speed: Possible (with patched firmware)
I saw the recommended flash version to use is "DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin" but it gives me an error that says "Command produced error code 0x82052602".
Any help would be appreciated.

Ensure there is no disc in the drive and the tray is closed.
You should see a green check for both MT1959 drive platform and Encrypted firmware. If there is not a green check for encrypted firmware, click on the red X to toggle it.
Is this an Archgon?

No disk and tray is closed. Green check marks on both. It sure is! I thought I saw it on the list of accepted but maybe I didn't pay close enough attention to the model?

It should be compatible and everyhting looks right.
What USB port do you have it connected to?
What OS are you using?
Are you using the new SDFtool Flasher v1.3.6? If so, try using the previous version, v1.3.5 and see if that makes a difference.

I've got it connected to a USB (it's labeled 5G but it's blue port) 3.0. I'm using Windows 11. I tried it on v1.3.6 first but then tried v1.3.5. Which is when I posted here.

Maybe try a different USB port if you can, preferable not a case port. Direct from the back of the motherboard if possible.

Only port I haven't tried yet is the teal port. All have been on the motherboard. I will give it a shot, If that doesn't work then I'm just going to do a return on the player. Thanks for your suggestions!

Or, if possible, try to flash it using a friend's/family members Windows PC.

Nothing ended up working so I ended up returning it and I got the LG drive that I had to get an enclosure for to use the USB. It flashed first go... And so far so good. Ripping the first disc currently

If it is WP50NB40 you have a slim drive. Never flash a slim drive with firmware for a full size drive and vice versa!!!!
Here is the guide.
