“Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Same problem here with the older version. Upgraded to the latest for Mac/OS and now, after the disc scan, the read fails due to something it can't do while downloading Hash Keys (?). I guess this is just something to do with the decryption but wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue.

By the way, this error is present on both my Mac mini and my son's Windows 11 computers.

Different issue - websites that host hashkeys is in Russia if not mistaken. If I remember the fix you might have to try using a different DNS or even a VPN if it is your provider blocking access.

Since they're able to access the websites which host the keys then DNS is not the problem. DNS only points the device to the IP address.

It might be the keys are corrupt or have been tampered with, or a bug in decryption somewhere.

No - look at my post on the end of page 7 & Mike's post near the end of page 8. Affected both Windows & macOS.

Problem with the 1.18.0 release, now fixed with the 1.18.1 release.

As a 27" iMac user, I somehow now own three Apple Silicon Macs and yet I still spend most of my time using my now ancient Intel based 27" iMac. Funny how the world works sometimes.

Using the iMP with 18 core, I enjoy working with it much more than with my MBA M2 And: it is supported with the next 2 upcoming OS (after Sequoia) until 2027. A support period that Apple usually not provides, the iMP is the exception.

First things first?

A big thank you goes to Mike and the team: it looks like the 1.18.1 patch has worked.

At least, my 4k copy of Aliens has been ripped: and is now transcoding with HandBrake.

As a thought, though … ?

I have two models of the Pioneer BD-RW UD04 burner: an older Archgon model with version 1.11 of the firmware, and a newer, Verbatim 43888 branded one, with version 1.14.

The Verbatim model refused to do the rip: as “the volume key is unknown for this disc”.

The Archon one ripped it successfully.

I hope that helps Mike and the development team.

I have no problem to see blu-ray in VLC. I just reinstall makemkv, do nothing for VLC.
Does those files under /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib properly linked to the correct makemkv dylib?

I believe you need to toggle the relevant switch in Settings>Privacy and Security>App Management

(That’s where I got taken, when I ticked the relevant box in MakeMKV’s settings.)
